Are Abortion Providers Demanding We Treat Human Remains as Mere Garbage?
RESPONSE TO LEGAL CHALLENGE TO NEW RULE REQUIRING HUMANE DISPOSITION OF FETAL REMAINS
For Immediate Release
December 12, 2016—The Center for Reproductive Rights, on behalf of Whole Woman’s and other abortion clinics, has filed suit challenging the State’s new rule requiring the humane disposition of human remains resulting from abortion or miscarriage.
The challenge, alleging burdensome costs of complying with the rule change, comes the same day Texas Catholic Bishops have announced Catholic dioceses across the state will pay for the costs of burying the remains of Texas’ tiniest babies.
According to Texans for Life president, Kyleen Wright, “Abortion advocates are completely out of touch with Texans who recognize that preborn babies, regardless of your position on abortion, are more than garbage for the landfill.” Wright continued by noting that Texans for Life is “very grateful to the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops for their generous move to absorb the cost of burial of these innocents.”
If the abortion industry continues to pursue this challenge after the cost has been eliminated, Texans and all the world will see the real issue for what it is: abortion providers demanding that we treat human remains as mere garbage.
